So much choice on the menu, the soup was hearty, lovely homemade bread. Seabass came with the most delicately seasoned rice - a perfect match. Crumble for dessert brilliant. My food allergy is never an issue and nothing is too much trouble. Not rushed - great place for a catch up with friends. So relaxing and great food.

Amaretto is a cosy and modern Italian restaurant in the idyllic surroundings of the Renfrewshire countryside in Bridge of Weir and offers a vibrant atmosphere with welcoming service.
Amaretto’s menus offer a delicious variety of all the Italian favourites. There are numerous authentic antipasti dishes to start your meal, from sogliola fritta – deep fried fresh lemon sole strips, coated in a light batter, served on a bed of mixed leaves with a citrus mayonnaise dip – to the classic insalata tricolore – fresh creamy mozzarella with plum tomatoes & rocket leaves in an Italian dressing.
Mains cover stonebaked pizza and pasta dishes as you would expect as well as separate meat and fish dishes. Popular choices include pollo all’Italiana – supreme of chicken wrapped in bacon and stuffed with pesto, sundried tomato and mozzarella cheese, served in a garlic and Italian white wine sauce – and the filetto di spigola – pan-fried fillet of sea bass cooked in a lemongrass, spring onion and Italian white wine sauce.
If you have room for dessert the affogato speciale is well worth a try – two scoops of vanilla or chocolate ice cream topped with a shot of hot Italian espresso, amaretti biscuits and a drizzle of your favourite liqueur.
Amaretto is on Bridge of Weir’s Main Street to the west of Glasgow and close to Kilmacolm. There is a car park at the restaurant and street parking nearby. The closest train station is Johnstone train station which is around a ten minute drive.
