Las Iguanas Glasgow is a fun, Latin American restaurant and bar on West Nile Street. It is an open plan space with a theatre-style kitchen so that diners can watch the chefs in action. The large patio windows are great for people watching and, during the warmer months, the windows are opened out and tables are set on the pavement. Parties are welcome while children have their own menu.
The main menu at Las Iguanas has dishes from Mexico to Brazil via Argentina – all influenced by the culinary traditions of countries as diverse as India and Spain. What all the dishes have in common is that they are made from fresh ingredients; the kitchen makes over 30 salsas and sauces each day.
As well as a selection of tapas, popular dishes on the menu include peri peri chicken, steaks and burgers from the grill; fajitas, enchiladas and great sides such as guacamole and cassava fries. More exotic dishes include the Brazilian xinxim – chicken and crayfish in a creamy lime and peanut sauce.
Las Iguanas is on West Nile Street in Glasgow city centre. Queen Street and Central rail stations are within a five minute walk. There is restricted on-street parking and pay parking at, for example, the NCP facility on Mitchell Street. Nearby attractions include Gallery of Modern Art, the shops of Buchanan Street and Glasgow Royal Concert Hall.
