Everything we ordered was very tasty - nibbles of olives and bread, followed by pesto spaghetti with burrata and bigoli with sausage and chilli and rounded off with excellent tiramisu. Was a Friday lunchtime and we were only diners there which meant it did lack a bit of a buzz. However the food and service were great, so would definitely give it another try

We were greeted warmly and taken to our table straight away. Our lovely server, who I think is the manager, explained the menu to us and made us feel so welcome. We ordered some bread and wine to go with our meal. The glass of prosecco included with the 5pm menu was very welcome while we decided what to have. My husband had the spaghetti with the pesto and burrata which was delicious and I had the pappardelle with prawns and asparagus. Another lovely touch is the shot glass of limoncello at the end of your meal. We thoroughly enjoyed our food and drink and will definitely return soon.

Enjoy this homemade pasta restaurant on Glasgow’s St Vincent Street on the former location of Slanj Kilts.
With industrial vibes, Il Pastaio is a casual dining space with an affordable menu.
All pasta is made freshly on the premises but don’t expect your typical carbonara. With a simple menu of antipasti, pasta and desserts, Il Pastaio has found its niche.
Antipasti options include burrata and saffron pears with tomatoes and standout pasta picks would be fettuccine with nduja, lemon and marscapone and pappardelle with prawns, asparagus, cherry tomatoes and breadcrumbs.
Desserts are kept simple with ice cream options, cannoli, tiramisu and affogatro.
In the city centre of Glasgow, Il Pastaio has numerous transport links on its doorstep. Queen Street and Central train stations are a walk away, parking is available in various locations plus many bus routes are on its doorstep.
