Lovely meal and staff very friendly although it was quite cold at first until fire heated the room.

I don’t often venture much further than the city centre for food but so glad we found this hidden gem on 5pm.co.uk. Food and service was outstanding. Lovely, cosy and welcoming atmosphere and you could tell the food was made from scratch. We will definitely be back, it’s worth the 10 minute wander out of town!

Love tapas but love pasta too? No need to be torn anymore because Dolce Vita offers the best of both worlds. Based in the city centre near the King’s Theatre, you can head there to sample the spuntini (Italian small plate) selection. Inside, the decor is rustically sleek, with rough stone walls, wooden floors and an open fire creating a pleasantly unfussy vibe.
Italian small plates are a very bright idea, as you can enjoy lots of different national nibbles rather than one big hefty plate.
Dishes at Dolce Vita include oven-baked meatballs, arancini rice balls and mussels in a cream sauce. The pasta tapas selection features classics like macaroni cheese, spaghetti bolognese and sausage penne in a tomato sauce.
You can also add on sides like skinny fries with parmesan, rosemary new potatoes and garlic bread with cheese.
Dolce Vita is on Elmbank Street, just a minute’s stroll from the King’s. Venues like the Centre for Contemporary Arts and GFT cinema are also easy to reach. The nearest train station is Charing Cross and there is pay parking on the street outside.
