Sirloin beef roast meal was excellent as was the chicken, with piping hot food which is rare in restaurants. Meals excellent drinks rather pricey perhaps.

Offering everything from breakfast through to lunch, dinner and cocktail night caps, Garvie & Co is on Station Road in Milngavie. A handsome space, it has large ground floor windows for watching the world go by while the upstairs bar is perfect for a glass of bubbles or craft beer – often accompanied in the evenings by a pianist. Garvie and Co is popular with the local community for morning coffee and cakes, catch-up lunches and tremendous a la carte dinners. The outside seats are at a premium when the sun is shining.
With a bakery display and ever evolving menus which range from afternoon tea to Sunday roasts via a range of breakfasts and a numerous la carte options, Garvie and Co caters for most occasions. The common thread is that the in-house chefs and bakers like to use fresh, seasonal and local produce and, as often as is possible, make everything from scratch.
The menus include simple dishes like the grilled salmon alongside more complex dishes such as the Goan style seafood curry. Pride of place goes to the beef, chicken and burgers cooked on the charcoal-fired Josper oven. The steaks are sourced from the award-winning Cairnhill Farm in Ayrshire.
Garvie & Co is on Station Road in Milngavie by the start of the West Highland Way. The nearest train station is a two minute walk. Nearby attractions include Milngavie and Bearsden Sports Club and Mugdock country Park. There are several free car parks within a hundred metres of Garvie and Co.
