You don’t need to be a fan of the Coen brothers’ film to enjoy a visit to this Dude-approved Morrison Street bar. However, fans of The Big Lebowski will appreciate the wide range of White Russian cocktails while film lovers will know how handy Lebowskis is for several Edinburgh cinemas. Other classic cocktails, DJs, acoustic music and quizzes are among the other non-food related attractions.
The burger menu is a highlight at Lebowskis. Five classic and around half a dozen seasonal burgers can be tweaked and customised ad infinitum with an array of cheeses, sauces, meat toppings and veg sides. There are chicken, veggie, venison, haddock and pulled pork variations but the aged, mince rump steak pattie is at the heart of the ever popular burger offer at Lebowskis.
At the weekends, brunch dishes and a Sunday roast with smoked roast beef, pit gravy, smoked tatties and mac ‘n’ cheese give the burgers a run for their money.
Lebowskis is on Morrison Street, just off Lothian Road. There are several cinemas within a ten minute walk as well as the Usher Hall, Traverse, King’s and Royal Lyceum theatres. Haymarket train station is a fifteen minute walk while the tram line is a ten minute walk away on Princes Street. Several bus routes run along Lothian Road and there is parking at Scottish Widows on Semple Street.
