Boteco Do Brasil is a vibrant restaurant and bar that promises to bring a taste of Brazil to the capital’s diners. Located on Lothian Street in Old Town, this brightly decorated spot serves up a wide range of traditional dishes and unique cocktails. With a large tapas and a la carte menu, visitors can sample the true flavours of Latin America. In the evening, Brazilian music creates an exciting carnival buzz.
Mains like feijoada (a Brazilian stew with black beans, pork ribs, smoked bacon, salt beef and smoked sausage), and the traditional Sunday lunch of Brazilians, the churrasquinho variado (a Brazilian mix grill BBQ with salad) are a hit with meat lovers.
Some of Boteco Do Brasil’s homemade tapas dishes heavily feature meat, for example the coxinha de frango (soft potato dough filled with chicken) and the carne de sol (seasoned strips of beef served with cassava), whereas options such as the salada native (mixed green leaves with fresh tropical fruit) and the salad caprese (made with fresh buffalo mozzarella, tomatoes & basil) offer a healthy alternative.
Boteco Do Brasil is in a prime setting on Lothian Street, close to the popular George Square and a short fifteen minute walk to Edinburgh Waverley rail station. There are several bus routes heading out of the Old Town area, and taxi ranks are located nearby.
