Turquoise Thistle is a vibrant, modern restaurant set within the boutique Hotel Indigo in Edinburgh city centre. Blending Georgian architecture with eye-catching modern design, it is the perfect spot to relax over fine food, drink and a catch-up.
The kitchen at the Turquoise Thistle is passionate about sourcing the finest local produce. The menu is packed with fresh, locally sourced dishes that incorporate traditional elements and flavours to give a feast for the tastebuds and the eyes.
While individual dishes may change, typical starters on the menu might be the sustainably sourced scallops and chorizo or the oat crumbed morangie brie, fried Scottish brie with walnut ginger bread and tomato chutney.
Typical main courses might be the pan roasted sea bass with chervil buttered Jersey royal tatties, broad bean and tomato dressing or the haunch of Highland venison with sautéed turnip and shallot, watercress puree, peas and bacon.
Located in York Place, the Turquoise Thistle is handy for a bite to eat after shopping – the St James Centre is just around the corner and Broughton Street’s quirky arts and crafts boutiques are two minutes away. The Playhouse is also a very short stroll away and it is only a ten minute walk from Waverley train station.
