Had a meal here, it was a Wednesday evening so it was very quiet but the food was lovely and the service was fast and friendly. Great chilled out atmosphere too. Would definitely go back next time I am in the area.

Great efficient service. Good range of food. Menus are a bit dog eared and furniture a bit worn-could probably do with a refurbishment. Atmosphere good though.

The Granary is located in the heart of trendy Leith and offers homely pub food. It is strong on homespun charm and warm comfort: colourful rugs soften wooden floors, whilst replica barn doors and old-fashioned kitchen utensils add an interesting twist.
Customers can mingle with friends near the bar or transfer to a deep sofa by the fire and toast gently. A large mezzanine level and ground floor dining room divide the space into welcoming compartments. The mood is relaxed, but a pianist picks up the pace with contemporary classics every Friday, Saturday and Sunday.
Scottish in inspiration, the menu moves beyond the purely traditional. The closest thing to a liquid lunch is the ‘assiette of the bottle shop’, featuring a bloody Mary oyster shot, haggis gateau with Macallan and chive sauce and French martini sorbet. The less adventurous or more sober can choose medallion of monkfish or a wild mushroom risotto.The classic chicken Balmoral is a signature dish of The Granary’s.
Deserts of particular note are the Tate and Lyle syrup and walnut tart with vanilla cream and the Equis Scottish tablet ice cream.
The Granary is located at Edinburgh’s Leith docks and there are numerous bus routes from the city centre and elsewhere nearby as well as on street parking.
