Booked this for some pals in the North East, I'd heard good things - they loved the service, and couldn't fault the food. Need to make it along myself...

We booked the Sunday Roast with dessert for £10 and it wasn't bad considering. I did have to check a couple of times with the waiter about the 5pm deal but got it sorted eventually and was all correct on the bill. It is a nice restaurant, the waiting staff were a bit stiff but OK and the food was fine.

The Bothy is in The Palm Court Hotel on Aberdeen’s Seafield Road. A handsome space with feature lighting and fashionable tiled walls, it serves food with a distinct Scottish accent. The welcome is warm and the ambience is cheerfully relaxed. The adjacent Whisky Bar continues the Caledonian theme.
Guests can start their day by dining at The Bothy. Brunch dishes include a full cooked breakfast and eggs Bothy-style – paired with Stornoway black pudding. The menu continues to fly the flag for Scotland throughout the day. Lunch options include baked potatoes with haggis and a whisky sauce as well as a tian of smoked and poached Scottish salmon.
Come the evening, diners can tuck into starters such as the Cullen skink, pan-seared North Sea scallops and ham haugh. In addition to steaks and the house burger, the main courses include roast rump of Borders lamb, a char grilled pork cutlet and battered haddock and chips.
Scottish dishes form the basis of the menus but there are other options such as the aubergine and chickpea tagine or the pan-seared Gressingham duck breast which is served with caramelised pear, bubble ‘n’ squeak, green beans and pear cider.
The Bothy is part of The Palm Court Hotel on Seafield Road in Aberdeen’s West End. The hotel has ample free parking. Aberdeen train station is a ten minute taxi ride. Local attractions include the Gordon Highlanders Museum.
