Housed in an impressive Grade B listed building, the Carmelite Bar and Grill is part of the Carmelite Hotel on Stirling Street. Located in the lively Merchant Quarter, it offers an all day menu of modern bar food. Live music, often on the baby grand piano, means that the Carmelite Bar and Grill fit in seamlessly to Aberdeen’s Merchant Quarter.
Located between the St Nicholas, Trinity and Union Square shopping centres, the Carmelite Bar and Grill is convenient for long lunches during breaks in mammoth shopping expeditions. A short walk from the Hi Majesty’s Theatre and several cinemas, it is also ideal for a pre-show bite to eat.
At the Carmelite Bar and Grill, fresh, local produce is used to create dishes such as the prawn martini cocktail; salt and pepper squid and the seared salmon fillet with a Hollandaise sauce. There is a wide selection of sandwiches and bar nibbles such as tempura onion rings and cheese sharing platters.
Alternatively, diners can tackle dishes like the Scottish sirloin steak, calves liver and chunky house burger.
Found on Stirling Street in Aberdeen’s fashionable Merchant Quarter, the Carmelite Bar and Grill is a two minute walk from Aberdeen bus and train stations. The Aberdeen ferry terminal is a five minute walk. Taxi ranks and bus stops are on nearby Market Street.
